WHO are the victims of teen violence?

  • One out of every five South Asian families experiences some kind of domestic violence. Children and teenagers are often affected by such violence.


  • 50% of all relationships which end in death begin in adolescence...


  • One in every three teen dating relationships is abusive.


  • 27% of students know of a relationship where one partner is kept from seeing his or her friends.


  • One in 10 people know of a dating relationship where one tells the other what they can and cant wear.


  • 59% of students in grades 6 through 12 know where to get a gun if they want one, and two thirds of these students say they can acquire a firearm within 24 hours.


  • Every day in the United States, 11 children are killed by gun violence.


  • 75-80% of all suicide victims are boys. More girls, however, attempt suicide. Boys are also more involved than girls in all forms of aggressive and violent behavior.
