Securing rights after domestic violence. Advocating to prevent it.
Maitri’s direct services address immediate safety and rights after abuse.
Our policy advocacy focuses on the systemic barriers, especially women of color,
that leave immigrant survivors at greater risk.
We drive policy and administrative change, working with local, state, and national partners
to improve how systems respond to survivors.

We support and advance legislation that strengthens safety and stability for immigrant communities, with a focus on survivors of domestic violence. This includes partnering on bills, providing input, and mobilizing support.
As part of the CPEDV Policy Advisory Council team, Maitri worked with survivors, advocates, and leaders in the movement against violence throughout the past year to demand funding for victims’ service providers, firearms safety measures, housing, technological safety, and economic justice among other intersectional issues.
